Arcos do Convento Branco is a crisp, affordable white blend from Lisboa, crafted by Adega de Azueira. It features a bright citrine hue, tropical and citrus notes. Retailing for, usually, €7.50 in all your favorite mercados.
It´s in bottles of red, of white, in boxes… it´s everywhere and it´s €2.20, €2.49, you get the idea. So is Real Lavrador from Adega de Redondo in the Alentejo region the Barefoot equivalent in Portugal or something you can…
This Alentejo white is light and easy and always under €3. It´s a little fruity and a little more citrusy, so good for fish, afternoons outside, and less so for punchier-flavored meals.
If €3 feels a bit much for this white wine at Mercadona, this 2024 Setubal gem is €2.60 at the church of Mercadona. Citrusy and tropical, it retails outside portugal for over $9. You´re not going to leave your spouse for it, but it´s solid and dependable. If we may... their reserva red is much better.
A Douro white wine for €3 you say? Or for €3.29 after Mercadona hiked prices? This one´s a keeper. Citrus, tropical fruit, and a light, toasty ending make it an all-seasons, all-meals kind of white.

This one´s misleading. The score, the price; many people go right to this label as their Cheapgood. It´s at every outdoor ad hoc gathering and it´s remarkably, amazingly drinkable for the price. Well done, Pine Hill.
